Christian must do two works

 

Text: Colossian 3:1-4

 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God, 2Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

What sentence: Christian must do two works

Here, we can get the answer of a question who Christian are? the Christian are those who have died with Christ, have been raised with Christ and whose life is hidden with Christ and whose life will appear with him in glory. Christ is Christian life and they can't have new life without with. They are united with Christ. according to this verse Christian must do two works. It is commands from God for them. these two works are

1.      Christian must seek the things that are above (1v)

Christian must seek the things that are above where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Christians are those who have been raised with Christ.  raising with Christ means that we Christians have new life. they are with Christ who is seated at the right hand of God.  Christ seating at the right hand of God refers to his authority over the whole earth and heaven. Christian must seek the things that are above means Christian must seek first Christ in their whole life. They must think heavenly not earthly. They must run their life according to Christ will. Seeking the things that are above means seeking the heavenly Christ.

2.      Christian must set their minds on things that are above. (2-4v)

The things that are above refers to the things that are in heaven. There is Christ in heaven.  Christ must set their minds on the things that are in above means Christ lives for heavenly things. Why?  Because they are died with Christ.  dying with Christ means dying for the earthly things and living for the Christ. another reason is that Christian's life is hidden with Christ in God. If Christian set their minds on this thing, they will see their life when Christ will return. Setting the mind on the things that are above means knowing that Christ is Christian' s life. It also means seeking or waiting   for heavenly life.

As conclusion, we as Christian should not forget to do two things to seek and to set our minds on the things that are above or in heavens.

Church Elders

  The elders are the primary spiritual leaders of the congregation. In the New Testament, the words for elder, oversee and pastor are used interchangeably (Eph4:11, Acts20:17,1Peter5:1-2). God is not irresponsible janitor.

 God is holy and just judge. He is loving and compassionate God. He is not only life giver lord but also, he is judge who will judge according to our day-to-day work. He will not leave to punish who are doing sin against God. Traffic police can be irresponsible janitor because he takes bribes to hide the mistake of people . God never to do that, he will not hide anyone’s sin and evil work but judge it righteously. Habakkuk 1:13 says’ your eyes are too pure to look on evil and you can’t tolerate wrong.
